**Erythrocyte sedimentation Rate

Blood is mixed with anticoagulant and allow to stand on a vertical tube. Seen the rate of Erythrocyte fall-down (setteld download) is known as erythrocyte sedimentation rate and erythrocyte setteled due to the force Called gravitation force towards earth center and erythrocyte is settled down.

– Anticoagulated blood is taken a tube and kept In vertical position in a stand and then allow sedimentation of erythrocyte and force of gravity is used for settle down of erythrocyte then after a spacific time generally 1 hour. the Level of settle down is noted and distance travell by erythrocyte in one hour isliye called erythrocyte sedimentation rate.

-Collection of blood 0.4 mlof 3.8%. Trisodium citrate and 2ml of whole blood is mix well

1-first of all blood collect in the 3.8% sodium citrated tube.

2.-draw the diluted blood in western gren or ESR tube up to mark zero(0) with the help of pipette and stand in ESR stand  .

3.the first note level of settled down in one hour and then 2 hour .

First hour + second hou/2/2
